Two Weeks without an automobile

For the past two weeks due to my own ineptitude with filling in forms at the DMV, I have been getting to work using a combination of walking, biking, MetroNorth trains, Beeline Buses, CTTransit Buses, kind colleagues and a darling husband, I have managed to get on the 6:10 train and make it to work on time.
The coming week I purchased a train pass that allows unlimited trips between my two stops. I hope to get a few errands done on my way home.
Getting to a train on time is not difficult, but its is getting ready for departure that is a new part of the routine. I have developed a detailed checklist that gets put into some second hand panniers that go onto my bike.

• Bike Permit for the Train
• Water Bottle
• Thermos

Plus all the other things you need when you leave for work.

The Snowiest Winter Ever

This is a picture of the shameful state of the sidewalk. The residents of these two homes are not considerate of the pedestrian traffic. I worry about our safety every time we walk on this block.

My day at Governors Island

I had an exciting adventure on Saturday. I boarded the train in Larchmont before the heat of the day. I biked down to Battery Park and then took the ferry to Governors Island where the waterfront alliance was putting on a festival, City of Water.

Origami Conference 2010

I returned from the Origami Conference with many ideas. It did my heart good to see so very many friends and first time convention attendees folding on Saturday into the wee hours of Sunday morning, folding and talking. I will put pictures up later.

Record Precipitation in March

Did you know that the state of New York got more precipitation in March than had ever been recorded. Happy Easter! I am busy getting the script for my autobiographical movie ready. I don't think my blogging days are over, but there is so much I don't want to air to the world. I am still dealing with limiting my collections.
